Lotus & Ginger is a handcrafted, boutique line of gemstone jewelry started by designer Diane Garisto in 2005. Diane is a metalsmith and jewelry maker with over 20 years of experience. She trained at New York's Craft Students League with renowned Japanese metalsmith Tomiko Ferguson and apprenticed at Studio Jewelers, NYC.
Often asked about the genesis of our Lotus & Ginger name, we like to explain that it was inspired by the lotus flower*, a sacred symbol in many Eastern spiritual practices, and, Ginger, Diane's childhood Boston Terrier dog-pal. Both the lotus blossom and Ginger hold very special places in Diane’s heart.
In addition to her interests in jewelry, Diane is a singer whose career has taken her in the studio and around the world with such industry notables as Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Patti Labelle, George Benson, Carly Simon, Al Jarreau, Laura Nyro and Steely Dan.
